This incredible NEW queen/king size Quilt
titled "Twisted Log Cabin" was made in Paisley, Ontario
designed and crafted by Carol Verdonk. Carol donated
the quilt to The Build A Bag Angels for a charity fundraising.
This is such a generous gift we were blown away. It took
countless hours with heartfelt care, precision. time, and labour.
Carol says it's worth $600. I believe so much more for this
gorgeous heirloom. Just look at the details of that applique!.
This will sure to be something that will be passed down
for generations to come.
Entries into the draw are $5 each or 3 entries for $10.
Paper tickets will be available (SOLD BY VOLUNTEERS) but

The 2020 Build A Bag Angels Summer Campaign (Christmas in July)
is NOW on !
This year, we will be building
'YOUTH INDEPENDENT LIVING' CARE PACKAGES
‘Youth living independently’ are youth who aged out of the system
prior to the pandemic. Many were just getting established,
attending school or working, and the impacts of the
pandemic response have been very difficult.
Many have lost their jobs, others have had to move off campus
and find emergency housing. Most are feeling isolated and
disconnected from friends and support networks.
The Youth Team has been focusing on this group because the
risks – homelessness, poverty, mental health concerns -
are so high for them.
The care packages help them with necessities as well as
‘nice to have’ items that make them feel like someone cares.
And we do. And I know you do too.
If you would like to support the Youth Care Packages,
here are the items we are looking for:
Grocery cards ($25 denomination – Walmart, PC, etc)
Hygiene Essentials:
Tooth Brush, Tooth Paste,
Conditioner, Shampoo
Nail clippers, Q-tips
Pandemic support:
Face masks (disposable or washable)

in the Kitchener-Waterloo area .

I was contacted by Danielle Trentini, a teacher

What we don't know is that not all kids live in foster care.
Teens between 16-20 sometime live on their own but are still
under the umbrella of The Family and Children's Services.
Once a year they hold a Christmas Party.
This year Build A Bag Angels is invited to be a part of

put together 60 mugs for the teens to take home as gifts.

We were able to provide Backpacks to 24 Teens out of
the 150 needing help in the Region of Kitchener/ Waterloo area.
